Features

Stealth - A standard pair of denim Plainsights is equally at home in the closet of a Hollywood mansion, a city apartment, a suburban home, or a rural doublewide. Everyone owns at least a few pairs denim blue jeans. The normal "edge on" view of a hanging pair of pants attracts little attention amongst other garments. The multiple layers of heavy denim material helps to conceal the outline of most items even when they are not sandwiched between other apparel in a closet. The unique hidden seams that form the pocket in a pair of Plainsights are completely invisible from the outside. They appear to the casual observer to be ready to wear! There is no velcro, zipper, or other closure mechanism; simply slide your hand in and retrieve the contents.Strength - A standard pair of Plainsights is permanently fastened to an extra heavy duty plastic hanger. The hanger looks similar to those commonly found in most closets, but it is exceptionally strong (See Photo). The unique hidden seams that form the pocket in a pair of Plainsights are also exceptionally strong, and denim speaks for itself. They will easily hold the weight of most full size handguns.Value - If you've priced a gun vault or even a new pair of denim blue jeans lately, you should have no trouble recognizing the bang for the buck factor in a pair of Plainsights. Portability - A pair of Plainsights can easily be packed into a suitcase, hung with your other clothes in a hotel room, or hung on the hanger hook in an automobile. The Standard Cut is well suited to most small to moderate sized handguns. The Steep Cut is suited to longer barreled handguns. Tips and Techniques TIPS AND TECHNIQUES1. The most important thing you can do to keep your Plainsights doing their job is to resist any urge you may have to show them to someone who does not NEED to know about them.2. Any time you are accessing your Plainsights in a non-emergency situation you should strongly consider locking the door to the room and drawing closed any window coverings so as to prevent anyone form stumbling upon you at just the wrong instant. If this seems extreme, remember that it only needs to happen once to render your investment largely useless.FINDING YOUR PLAINSIGHTS RIGHT NOW:1. Consider placing your Plainsights in an easy to remember location among your other apparel and do not move them from that spot. One position "in" from either end or from some other easily recognized "landmark" in your closet might be a good choice.2. Consider placing your Plainsights in a location in your closet that allows natural quick access. Try to locate them so that you are clear to reach in with your dominant hand. Consider doors or other obstacles which could interfere with quick access.3. Some customers find useful ways to "mark" their Plainsights with a small piece of reflective tape, or a physical abrasion or other tactile marker that makes it easier to find them in the dark. If you find it necessary or decide to choose some variation on this theme, just be sure that it is inconspicuous and does not interfere with the strength of the hanger.4. If at all possible there is never any substitution for PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE. Practice until you can access them quickly and confidently in the dark.TRAVELING WITH YOUR PLAINSIGHTS:1. Always know and obey the relevant firearms laws of the places you travel to.2. Many motels offer room safes or a safe at the front desk which you may wish to consider. Remember that motel staff can enter your room whether you are present or not.3. Plainsights can easily be folded and placed in a suitcase with your other clothing, however the hanger can NOT be removed.4. Always remember to remove and/or declare ANY weapon in your luggage prior to entering an airport. Failing to remember to remove a weapon from your luggage will get you into SERIOUS TROUBLE when it is discovered by airport baggage screeners. Always treat your weapon like the serious responsibility it is by keeping its location at the forefront of your mind.5. A pair of Plainsights can readily be described as a legitimate holster, however, because the contents are hidden from view, carrying them in a public place with a firearm inside would be considered carrying a concealed weapon. You must have a valid Concealed Carry permit for your location to legally do so.
